Hi, I am a New Yorker but I have been living in Italy for a really long time. I work, I'm a mother of two and am married to a great Italian guy.
I'm half German and I have been lucky enough to have been exposed to many cultures and kinds of food from an early age. I love everything about food. I admit I started out as a very picky eater but these days I am willing to try anything and there are very (and I mean very) few things I do not like. I am not a chef, I am not a food expert and I am not even a great cook. I am learning as I go along. But I love food and anything related with a passion and I want my kids to learn to love food as much as my husband and I do. I also want them to learn to respect the environment and to be sustainable eaters. The rule in our home is to try everything at least once, to eat as many local and seasonal ingredients as possible and to reduce waste to the minimum. A full time job in finance and raising a pre-schooler third grader and a baby pre-schooler leave very little time for playing around in the kitchen. But I believe there is always time to prepare something fast, simple yet tasty for the ones you love!
